IMPACT Children’s & Family Ministry

Our ministry with children and families is an integral part of Parkway. We desire to assist parents and families to raise their children in a Christ centered home and church. We believe that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church, so that is why we provide the resources (Family Times, God Time Cards, Refrigerator Doors) for families to make their time at home more valuable during the week.

Sunday Mornings

Impact Kidz Zone is where our K-5th grade children are placed into small groups on Sunday mornings. We strive to create an environment where children learn how to study the Bible, to worship through singing, and to build quality friendships with other kids and adult leaders.

“Welcome”
Children are greeted in their grade level small groups by their Small Group Leaders.

“Large Group Environment” Children move into a large group and participate in a meaningful time of worship and giving, as well as hear a Bible story given by a master teacher.

“Small Group Environment” Once divided back into their small groups, children build relationships through discussion activities, and prayer. These activities are centered around “the point” of the Bible story for that particular week.

2.  I can TRUST God no matter what.
3.  I should treat OTHERS the way I want to be treated

Junior Bible Quiz is a fun way for children in Kindergarten through sixth grades to memorize scripture. Our quiz teams compete against other churches throughout Oregon to add the fun of competition to learning. The JBQ team practices every Sunday morning (from the end of August - April) at 9:00 a.m.

Sunday Evenings (Once a Month)

Parents and kids experience the most action packed 45 minutes of fun possible. Music, movies, sketches, comedy, and stories combine to make learning about virtues something your kids do all week.

The first Sunday evening of each month at 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Wednesday Night (7:00 pm - 8:30 pm)

Rainbows

This special program is for 3 - 5 year old (not in Kindergarten) boys and girls where the gospel is made relevent through crafts, stories, and interactive play time.

Mpact Girls Club

Mpact Girls Clubs are a ministry tool to help fulfill the Titus 2 principle of women mentoring young girls. Missionettes is a way to change the world one girl at a time. The club is divided into:
Dasies: Kindergarten
Prims: 1st & 2nd Grade
Stars: 3rd - 5th grade
During the year the groups often unite for fun activities such as parties, sleep-overs, and camp outs.

Royal Rangers

Royal Rangers is one of America’s largest and foremost adventure and mentoring programs. Its purpose is to reach, teach, and keep boys for Christ. The club is divided into:
Ranger Kids: K - 2nd Grade
Discovery Rangers: 3rd - 5th Grade
Royal Rangers participate in Pinewood Derby races and regular camp outs. They learn about the Bible, camping, and important life skills.

PARENT PACKS : Inside each month's FREE Parent Pack, you'll find "Refrigerator Door" sheet. Every time you open the fridge door, you'll be reminded to ask your child a question, help them with their memory verse, review this month's virtue, or talk about the Bible story for that week.

You'll also find a "God Time" card for each week this month which will help your child develop the habit of having a quiet time with God. Have your child choose four days out of the week where they will read a "God Time" card, do the activity described, and pray a simple prayer.

VIRTUE PACKS : Virtue packs are a great tool for making the most of every moment that you have with your kids. Meal time cards, bed time cards, drive time CD and personal notes to your kids give you a whole month's worth of material to reinforce what they hear at church each Sunday. Even though these are designed for your Kindergartenthrough 5th grade student, your preschoolers will love it too!

These packs are way cool and they are only $10.00--an inexpensive investment that you can use over and over again to grow your child's character. Pull them out each time your family is struggling with a certain virtue!
