Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Gresham which is 15 miles east of Portland
Fondest memory of growing up there?
I had a great childhood. I loved living in a small town (it was small then) and working on a local farm.
Favorite aspect of living in Grants Pass?
I love the river. If I ever have any money I want to live on the river. I have great friends here and this church is part of the very fabric of my life.
Favorite Scripture and why?
There are several significant verses to me personally but I live Romans 14:4 that says we will stand because God will make us stand

Fondest memory of growing up there? Spending time with my Swedish grandma
Favorite aspect of living in Grants Pass? The incredible beauty that absolutely surrounds us, and the beauty of the river.
Favorite Scripture and why? This is a hard one…..2 Sam. 22 (especially vs. 17-20) It shows me how to pray, how to stand, how to believe and be a real person at the same time. It always increases my faith when I read this chapter.
What 5 ingredients would go into your “best day”? 1. To see the “light” come on in someone’s heart that I’ve been praying for. 2. Be with the family (especially the grandbabies now – but getting to be with any of our family makes my day) 3. Looking at and listening to a water fall or a awesome thunder/lightening storm with Dennis 4. Laughing out loud, especially with God 5. Peace

Where did you grow up?  As a post WWII baby we moved a lot - Iowa, Wisconsin, a stint in Maine and wound up in Southern California for Jr. High and High School.
Fondest memory of growing up there?  Iowa - I liked the farm life and small town atmosphere.  There was lots of family and fond memories of swimming in the coal pit, picking beans and corn, grand family meals with lots of cousins and friends.
Favorite aspect of living in Grants Pass?  Some family had moved to Grants Pass by the time I graduated High School.  I worked with my uncle and helped build Howard Prairie Resort in the early 60's - fishing, the outdoors and small town feel brought us to live here and raise our family.
Favorite Scripture and why?  Proverbs 3:5-6.  Experience has taught me that no matter what life brings us, God is my source, focus and the One I trust.
What 5 ingredients would go into your “best day”?  My best days are when our family is all together, children and grand-children; the boys go fishing, the girls go shopping, the kids don't fight and we all gather around the table sharing memories and life together.  Back in the day that was a regular day, today it is an event for most of us.
Your current, favorite worship song?  Too many to have a favorite, but for the most part I still like the now "old" Brownsville and Hillsongs.

Where did you grow up? As a kid I moved a lot in New Jersey.  When I hit 8th grade I was living in the Pocono Mountains of Pensilvania.  At first it was tough living in a remote location outside of town.  I remember my step father getting tired of hearing my complaints that there was no one to play with so he jokingly told me to ‘go play in traffic’ to which I responded ‘if you can get a car to drive by our house I would!’  Eventually I came to understand It was a great place to grow up and enjoy the outdoors both in winter & summer.  I lived in NYC for a short time which was a big change from the country, but very exciting.

Fondest memory of growing up there? Exploring the vast woods with my dogs, building forts, and riding motorcycles & snowmobiles.  My high school did not have a football team but I was thankful for the snow ski club that took us skiing every Friday night.

Favorite aspect of living in Grants Pass? I love talking to many adults about the multi generations that have lived here.  It’s a real sense of community with many ‘main street’ annual activities.  The surrounding area is very beautiful which works great for me since I love to be outdoors so much.

Favorite Scripture and why? Isaiah 61 “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the  prisoners…’  That's powerful stuff when you think how it relates to who God allows me to minister to – KIDS!

What 5 ingredients would go into your “best day”? Morning Devotion, driving to the Oregon coast with my kites & camera (assuming my family is at school/work, getting home in time to spend the evening with my wife & kids, eating my favorite meal (Beef curry), laying my head down to sleep knowing how blessed I am.
