Lead Pastor

Pastor Dennis Webber

Where did you grow up?
Gresham Oregon
Fondest memory of growing up there?
It was a great place to be a kid.  We had farms to work on for summer jobs and spending money.  You could bike from one end to the other, with old fashioned soda fountains where you could hang with friends and spend that money you made picking berries.  It had a great mix of small town connectedness with plenty of opportunities for activities.
Favorite aspect of living in Grants Pass?
In some ways it is like where I grew up.  It is small enough to have connections and big enough to have opportunities.  I love being an active part of a community, especially working with the pro-community people to solve problems and improve the livability for everyone.  I especially appreciate the connectedness with some of the local congregational leaders.
Favorite Scripture and why?
This is tough because there are so many that speak to our redemption and the eternal promises connected to it.  A couple of promises from Romans are encouraging to me.  The first is actually all of Romans 8 with verse 31 being significant - "What then shall we say in response to all this?  If God is for us who can be against us?"  I love the confidence and security in that verse.  And then in Paul's discussion of legitimately different opinions regarding some lifestyle issues he says "Who are you to judge someone else's servant?  To their own master they stand or fall.  And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand."  (Rom 14:4)  While it is nice to have a clear opinion regarding disputable issues, I especially love the promise that God not only is the judge of whether we stand or fall but He is the source by which we stand.
What 5 ingredients would go into your “best day”?
Great time with Jeanette.  Good food.  Fun with grandchildren.  Seeing positive life change in people around me.  Being outdoors engaged in activity like fly fishing, golf, rafting, etc.

Where did you grow up?
Campbell, CA
Fondest memory of growing up there?
Great donuts and getting to spend time with my very fun Swedish grandmother.
Favorite aspect of living in Grants Pass?
The beauty that is all around us.  Amazing.
Favorite Scripture and why?
Zephaniah 3:17: The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”

It seems like I am always brought back to this scripture - a reminder of His hugeness, His love....Him.
What 5 ingredients would go into your “best day”?
Being with my family (that would technically be more than five right there!).  Laughter.  A waterfall.  A divine appointment with someone coming to know, really know Jesus.  Ok, yes, getting to get some really, super cute shoes that were actually comfortable.

Where did you grow up?
As a post WWII baby we moved a lot - Iowa, Wisconsin, a stint in Maine and wound up in Southern California for Jr. High and High School.
Fondest memory of growing up there?
Iowa - I liked the farm life and small town atmosphere.  There was lots of family and fond memories of swimming in the coal pit, picking beans and corn, grand family meals with lots of cousins and friends.
Favorite aspect of living in Grants Pass?
Some family had moved to Grants Pass by the time I graduated High School.  I worked with my uncle and helped build Howard Prairie Resort in the early 60's - fishing, the outdoors and small town feel brought us to live here and raise our family.
Favorite Scripture and why?
Proverbs 3:5-6.  Experience has taught me that no matter what life brings us, God is my source, focus and the One I trust.
What 5 ingredients would go into your “best day”?
My best days are when our family is all together, children and grand-children; the boys go fishing, the girls go shopping, the kids don't fight and we all gather around the table sharing memories and life together.  Back in the day that was a regular day; today it is an event for most of us.
Your current, favorite worship song?
Too many to have a favorite, but for the most part I still like the now "old" Brownsville and Hillsong.
